This project was initiated by the shared interest of percussionist Szabolcs Joó and saxophonist Erzsébet Seleljo in the repertoire for saxophone and percussion. The pairing of these two instruments has inspired numerous composers over the past decades, resulting in an impressive and ever-growing body of work for this exciting instrumental combination.

The programme showcases the duo across a wide temporal and geographical spectrum, featuring music from five continents. Works by Akira Yuyama, David Maslanka, Matthew Orlovich, Johann van der Linden, and Abdul Ibrahim are included in the performance.

Each composition highlights the unique characteristics of the instruments: the rhythmic energy of the percussion and the lyrical, song-like voice of the saxophone.
